Sapt and Shopmonkey: website inquiries and missed calls into appointments
Keep Shopmonkey running the shop. Connect Sapt to read real availability, book accepted appointments, and handle customer conversations by text.
Does Sapt integrate with Shopmonkey?
Yes. Sapt connects to Shopmonkey to read the shop's schedule and book appointments the customer has accepted. The shop keeps Shopmonkey for its day-to-day operation. Sapt handles the managed website and Google listing, missed-call text-back, and the text conversation that gets a suitable request to an appointment.
The service is $297 a month flat, separate from your Shopmonkey subscription. This page describes Sapt's implementation, reviewed October 14, 2026. It does not claim that Sapt is an endorsed Shopmonkey partner or that every Shopmonkey record synchronizes.
What the connection can do
- Connect an authorized Shopmonkey account and identify its locations.
- Read the selected location's appointment availability when preparing an offer.
- Book a time after the customer accepts it and availability is checked again.
- Let staff move or cancel supported appointments.
- Observe appointment changes through a scheduled sweep, with signed appointment webhooks available when configured.
- Link supported services to Shopmonkey canned services so a booking can use the relevant service preset.
A cancellation or changed appointment can be picked up by the periodic sync; configured webhooks can deliver change notifications sooner. The scheduled sweep runs every 15 minutes. Do not describe every change as instantaneous.
These capabilities are implemented in Sapt's appointment system. They do not mean Sapt imports your entire invoice history, manages parts inventory, or automatically knows that a repair is complete. Confirm job-completion and review-request handling during setup.
Follow a missed call through to the advisor
A customer calls the shop's connected number while the team is busy. When the call is missed, Sapt sends a text. The customer explains the work they need. The assistant uses the shop's service rules and the connected calendar to offer available times.
When the customer accepts one of those times, Sapt checks the opening again and creates the appointment. The owner receives the booking details. A question the assistant cannot answer goes privately to the owner instead of producing a guessed price or repair diagnosis.
The advisor still controls what the shop can service. Booking a diagnostic visit is not a promise that the repair will be finished that day. Set realistic durations, lead times, and the difference between drop-off and waiting appointments before switching on the booking flow.
What setup involves
A Shopmonkey administrator supplies an authorized API key through Sapt's secure connection flow. The integration verifies access and discovers available locations. Choose the correct location for the schedule and review its timezone and working hours. Never paste a key into a public form, shared article, or customer text.
Shopmonkey documents its integration model in the API and webhooks overview, with technical capabilities in the developer documentation. Check current access requirements for your account with the vendor.
Next, define the services the assistant can book. When a supported service is linked to a Shopmonkey canned service, Sapt can create the associated estimate order and appointment using that preset. If the preset cannot be applied, the system can fall back to a plain appointment; an advisor should review it. Do not advertise arbitrary or unapproved estimates as automatic.
Then decide which product sends each message. Confirmations, reminders, campaigns, and review requests should have a clear owner. Turn off overlapping automations after checking the complete customer journey.
Test it before a customer relies on it
Use a test customer and an approved time. Check one successful booking, one slot that becomes unavailable, a duplicate retry, a staff reschedule, and a cancellation. Confirm the appointment is visible in the right location and the owner receives the right details. Check that a cancelled appointment does not continue generating stale reminders.
Ask a question that needs the owner and test the owner's reply. Temporarily unavailable calendar access should lead to a handoff, not a fabricated opening. The full shop software acceptance checklist covers the remaining cases.
Compare with what you already pay for
Shopmonkey offers its own marketing and front-desk tools. Compare your actual package, the setup work included, which team maintains the website and Google listing, and how inquiries reach appointments. A long feature list is less useful than watching your own missed-call scenario work from start to finish.
If that is the gap you want Sapt to handle, see the $297-a-month mechanic-shop offer. For wider research, use our official shop software and industry resources.
Common questions
Will appointments go into Shopmonkey?
Yes, when the Shopmonkey location is connected and selected as the booking destination. Sapt reads availability, offers times, and creates an appointment after the customer accepts an opening that is checked again.
Does Sapt replace Shopmonkey?
No. Shopmonkey remains the shop-management system. Sapt supplies the managed website and Google listing plus missed-call texting and text-based appointment conversations.
Are reschedules and cancellations synchronized immediately?
Appointment changes are checked by a 15-minute sweep. Configured signed webhooks can notify Sapt sooner. Actual timing depends on the configured connection; do not assume instantaneous synchronization.
Does the integration automatically trigger reviews from every paid invoice?
This appointment integration does not establish a complete paid-invoice or job-completion connection. Confirm how the shop marks a job complete and triggers the review request during setup.
