Choose Tekmetric Marketing if

  • You already run Tekmetric and want marketing in the same login.
  • You want declined-work and maintenance reminders triggered straight from your repair orders.
  • You want revenue by lead source in your shop reports.
  • Someone at the counter has time to build campaigns and answer the inbox.

Choose Sapt if

  • Your shop isn’t on Tekmetric, or you don’t want $345 a month on top of your plan.
  • Missed calls are where you lose jobs and you want each caller texted and booked.
  • You want your website and Google listing handled for you, not another tool to run.
  • You want to be the only shop in your area we work with.

What happened to Shopgenie?

Shopgenie was an auto repair CRM from Scottsdale, Arizona, founded in 2022. It sold online booking, websites, two-way texting, reviews, call tracking and an AI assistant called Jasmine. In 2024 its pricing page listed a free booking tool, LITE at $345 a month and PRO at $495 a month, with no contracts.

On October 16, 2024, Tekmetric announced it was joining forces with Shopgenie. On September 30, 2025, it launched Tekmetric Marketing as an add-on built into Tekmetric. shopgenie.io is now a notice page titled “Shopgenie - Now Tekmetric Marketing.”

Existing Shopgenie customers are still supported. Tekmetric’s help center says there are “no plans to sunset Shopgenie products,” with at least six months’ notice if that changes, and offers a migration to Tekmetric Marketing.

What Tekmetric Marketing includes

Per Tekmetric’s product page and help center: online booking with a Google “Book Online” button, appointment confirmations and reminders, automations for declined service, maintenance, lost customers and review requests, text and email campaigns, Google review management with AI-drafted replies, a custom website, and a marketing dashboard.

Two details to know. The Google booking button is controlled by Tekmetric: its help article says you cannot add, edit or remove that link in Google yourself. And the Marketing page lists two-way texting while the pricing page shows two-way texting as a Scale plan feature, so confirm which plan you need.

What it costs

Tekmetric Marketing is $345 a month per shop and “requires a plan subscription for each location.” The cheapest Tekmetric plan is $179 a month billed annually or $199 month to month, so the lowest total is $524 to $544 a month. On the Scale plan, which lists two-way texting, the total is $754 to $784 a month.

Paid ads are a separate product, Tekmetric Digital Ads: $99 a month plus ad spend, with a $10 a day minimum and $15 a day recommended.

Tekmetric’s pricing page says “No long-term contracts required.” Its terms of service say subscriptions renew automatically, annual terms need cancellation notice at least 30 days before the end of the term, and “all payments are non-refundable and non-cancellable.”

Sapt is $297 a month flat: no setup fee, no contract, and we refund your payment if it isn’t worth it to you in the first 30 days. Ad spend is separate.

Where Sapt is different

Missed calls. Sapt gives you a number for your Google listing and website that rings your shop first. If nobody picks up, the caller gets a text from your shop right away. We found no missed-call text-back in Tekmetric Marketing’s public docs. Tekmetric’s own Shopgenie phone transition guide lists call tracking as “under consideration” and SMS automation as “planned” for Tekmetric Phones.

Someone answers. Sapt’s AI front desk answers the customer’s questions by text and offers real openings. With a supported calendar connected it books the accepted time, and you get a text with the details. Questions it can’t answer come to you. Tekmetric Marketing gives customers a booking widget; replies come from your staff.

Done for you. We set up the website, texting number, booking times and review texts, and keep your Google listing right. Tekmetric Marketing is software your team operates.

One shop per area. We don’t take on the shop down the street. Tekmetric’s Digital Ads FAQ says that if a nearby competitor also uses Digital Ads, “both shops can still be eligible to appear.”

Where Tekmetric Marketing is stronger

It lives inside your repair orders. Declined-service and maintenance reminders fire from Tekmetric data, reminders cancel when the customer comes back early, and the lead source reports show sales and gross profit by source. Sapt’s declined-work texts work from an export of your shop software.

If your shop runs on Tekmetric and your team already lives in it, one login is a real advantage.

Shopgenie on other shop software

Shopgenie integrated with several shop management systems. Tekmetric Marketing requires Tekmetric. If you were a Shopgenie customer on Shopmonkey or another system, the replacement means switching shop software or staying on legacy Shopgenie.

Sapt keeps your shop software. Shopmonkey appointment booking is live, and our team handles the connection and tests it with you. See the Shopmonkey guide and the software integration guide.

If your shop runs on Tekmetric

Sapt’s Tekmetric integration is in progress. Until it’s live, the assistant takes the request and your advisor confirms the time in Tekmetric. We agree that handoff with you before anything goes live, and we’ll tell you plainly what connects today.

Some Tekmetric shops will want both: Tekmetric for reminders from repair orders, Sapt for missed calls, the website and the Google listing. If you do that, decide which system sends review requests and confirmations so customers don’t get two of each.

Questions shop owners ask
