Sapt works with Shopmonkey, not instead of it

This page is not a case for leaving Shopmonkey. Shopmonkey stays your shop system. Sapt connects to it: the assistant reads your real Shopmonkey availability, offers openings, and books the time the customer accepts into Shopmonkey. You get a text with the details.

So the useful question isn’t which one to pick. It’s which jobs CRM Essentials does inside Shopmonkey, which jobs Sapt does around it, and who sends what when you run both. The Shopmonkey guide explains how the connection works and how we test it with you.

What CRM Essentials includes

CRM Essentials is Shopmonkey’s marketing add-on, and it can be added to any Shopmonkey plan. Per Shopmonkey’s product page and help center:

Reviews Manager. Connect your Google Business Profile, reply to reviews with an AI suggested response, and send review requests automatically when an order is invoiced, paid or archived, right away or up to 3 days later.

Campaigns. One-time and automated text and email campaigns, including reminders for recurring services, follow-up on services a customer declined on a past invoice, and re-engagement for customers who haven’t been in. Text campaigns go from a separate marketing number to customers who have opted in.

Appointment Scheduler. Customers book online from your website, a public link or Book Online with Google, and the appointment lands in your Shopmonkey calendar.

Concierge. The “front desk assistant” on Shopmonkey’s pricing page. More on it below.

Shopmonkey also lists estimate follow-up as part of CRM Essentials. Every tool works from the customer and vehicle records your team already keeps in Shopmonkey, which is the main reason to run them there.

Concierge, the new front desk assistant

Shopmonkey gave early access to Concierge to small groups of CRM Essentials customers in September 2026. Its October 2026 release notes say Concierge is “now included in all CRM Essentials plans.” Shopmonkey’s Concierge page calls it an AI phone assistant.

Per Shopmonkey’s help article, Concierge answers inbound calls. It can greet callers, find or create the customer record, book, reschedule or cancel appointments, and answer questions using information your shop provides. Each call is saved with a transcript and sorted by outcome, and calls it can’t resolve go on a Follow-up Needed list. You can let it transfer calls to the shop.

You keep your shop number. Your published number forwards to a Concierge-managed number, which you set up with your phone provider using Shopmonkey’s call forwarding guide.

CRM Essentials includes 200 Concierge calls a month. Through December 31, 2026, calls are unlimited. Shopmonkey says extra call bundles will be available from January 1, 2027, with details to come.

Concierge answers by voice. Sapt’s front desk works by text. Some shops will want one, some both. If you run both, read the section on running both below.

What it costs

Shopmonkey’s pricing page lists CRM Essentials at $314 a month on annual pricing or $349 month to month. Plans start at $215 a month on annual pricing or $239 month to month, so the lowest total with CRM Essentials is $529 to $588 a month.

Shopmonkey says it has no setup fees, though data migration or in-person training can cost extra. Month-to-month subscriptions can be cancelled with 30 days’ notice before the next billing date. Annual contracts stay active to the end of the term.

Sapt is $297 a month flat, separate from your Shopmonkey subscription. There’s no setup fee and no contract, and we refund your payment if it isn’t worth it to you in the first 30 days. Paid ad spend is separate.

If you run both, you pay for both, so be clear which jobs each one does.

What Sapt adds around Shopmonkey

A website. We build it from your Google listing, on your own domain. CRM Essentials gives you a scheduler to put on a website; we found no website product in Shopmonkey’s public docs.

A text back for every missed call. Sapt gives you a number for your Google listing and website that rings your shop first. If nobody picks up, the caller gets a text back right away. See how missed-call text-back works.

A front desk by text. Sapt’s AI front desk answers customers by text, reads your real Shopmonkey availability, offers openings and books the accepted time into Shopmonkey. You get a text with each booking, and questions it can’t answer come to you.

Your Google listing looked after. We handle listing upkeep and send you a monthly Google Maps rank report.

Set up with you. Our team handles the Shopmonkey connection and tests it with you. And we work with one shop per area, so we won’t take on the shop down the street.

Running both without double messages

If you keep CRM Essentials and add Sapt, give every customer message one owner. Settle these before you go live:

Calls nobody picks up. Concierge answers forwarded calls by voice. Sapt’s number rings your shop first and texts the caller if nobody answers. Decide which one handles an unanswered call on each number, so a caller doesn’t get both. We test that call path with you during setup.

Review requests. Shopmonkey can send one when an order is invoiced, paid or archived. Sapt sends one when you tap Job done. Use one and switch the other off.

Confirmations and reminders. Every Shopmonkey plan includes appointment confirmations and automated reminders. Decide whether they go out for appointments the Sapt assistant books, then check one test booking end to end so the customer gets one confirmation and one set of reminders.

Declined work. CRM Essentials reads declined services straight from past invoices. Sapt’s declined-work texts work from an export. If you run Shopmonkey’s deferred-service campaigns, let Shopmonkey own declined work.

Campaigns. Keep them in Shopmonkey, where your opt-ins and customer records live.

The shop software checklist covers the rest of the test. If your shop runs on Tekmetric instead, see Sapt vs Tekmetric Marketing.
