Sapt vs Birdeye for independent auto repair shops

Birdeye is reviews, listings and messaging software built for multi-location brands. It prices per location through a sales form, and its terms auto-renew unless you give 90 days’ written notice. Sapt is $297 a month, no contract: missed callers get a text, an AI front desk answers by text and books, and we run your website and Google listing.

Who Birdeye is built for

Birdeye’s homepage describes it as “AI Coworkers for Multi-location Brands.” Jay handles marketing (reviews, listings, social, AI search and pages), Myna handles operations (front desk, appointments and reminders), and Robin handles customer experience (surveys, insights and ticketing).

Its automotive page says more than 2,000 automotive businesses use Birdeye. The integrations it names there, such as Dealertrack, DealerSocket, CDK Global and CCC One, are dealership and collision systems. For independent repair shops, Birdeye lists integrations with Shopmonkey, Tekmetric and Mitchell 1 (web version only), and its integrations directory also lists AutoLeap, Protractor, Shop Boss and Tire Guru.

What it costs

Birdeye doesn’t publish prices. Its pricing page says “Pricing built around outcomes, not seat counts” and “One platform, one contract,” and asks for your number of locations before a sales follow-up.

CostBench, a third-party pricing site, lists Starter at $299, Growth at $349 and Dominate at $449 per location a month, with Premium for four or more locations priced by sales. It says it last checked these on August 26, 2026. Treat them as a guide and get a written quote.

Sapt is $297 a month flat: no setup fee, no contract, and we refund your payment if it isn’t worth it to you in the first 30 days. Ad spend and campaign management are separate. See what auto repair marketing costs for published prices across vendors.

Contract and renewal

Birdeye’s terms and conditions, effective May 13, 2026, say that unless your order form says otherwise, “any agreement for Services will auto renew for the same period of time as the initial term of the agreement unless written notice of non-renewal is provided to BirdEye at least 90 days prior to the date of renewal.”

The same terms say “all payment obligations under any and all Order Forms or Statements of Work are non-cancellable and all payments made are non-refundable,” except where the terms say otherwise. At each auto renewal, Birdeye adds an 8% Innovation Fee to recurring fees, unless your agreement predates April 1, 2024 or sets a different fee. Invoices are due in 30 days.

If you sign, read the order form and put the date 90 days before renewal on your calendar. Sapt has no contract to renew.

Where Sapt is different

Missed calls. You keep the number your customers already know, and Sapt works with almost all major phone providers. If nobody picks up, the caller gets a text from your shop right away. Birdeye Receptionist picks up unanswered calls, takes a voicemail, transcribes it and sends the caller an auto-reply text, and your team replies from the Birdeye inbox.

Someone answers and books. Sapt’s AI front desk answers the customer’s questions by text and offers real openings. With a supported calendar connected it books the accepted time, and you get a text with the details. Questions it can’t answer come to you. Birdeye’s website chatbot answers visitors and books appointments, and Myna, its AI front desk for calls, is marketed as “AI Front Desk for Healthcare & Dental” and books into an EHR.

Done for you. We build your website from your Google listing, on your own domain, and keep your hours, services, photos and phone right on Google, with a monthly report of where you show up on Google Maps. Declined-work follow-up texts work from an export of your shop software. Birdeye is software your staff runs. See what Sapt does for repair shops.

One shop per area. We don’t take on the shop down the street.

Where Birdeye is stronger

Built for many locations. Birdeye manages reviews, listings, social posts and messaging per location from one dashboard. Its listings tools scan and fix your profiles across directories continuously, and Birdeye Pages adds location pages that Birdeye builds and maintains. If you run several shops, that is a real advantage.

Review requests from your shop software. Birdeye’s Shopmonkey, Tekmetric and Mitchell 1 integrations send review and survey requests automatically after a completed transaction and collect reviews across 150+ sites. Sapt sends the review text when you tap Job done.

More of the counter in one place. Birdeye also offers payments, surveys, text campaigns from your business number, and a unified inbox for text, social, webchat and Google messages, with more than 3,000 integrations.

If your shop runs on Shopmonkey or Tekmetric

Birdeye’s integration pages say customer data moves from Shopmonkey or Tekmetric to Birdeye “via managed services,” and after that, review and survey requests are automated. Its Tekmetric announcement from April 24, 2024 says the integration is “Applicable only for Direct customers.” Neither page mentions booking.

Sapt’s Shopmonkey appointment booking is live, and our team handles the connection and tests it with you. Tekmetric, Torque360 and ARI integrations are in progress, and other systems aren’t connected yet. Until yours is live, the assistant takes the booking request and your advisor confirms it. If yours isn’t on the list, contact our team or email hello@sapt.ai and we’ll help get a connection set up. See integrations, or Sapt vs Tekmetric Marketing if you’re weighing Tekmetric’s own add-on.

If you keep Birdeye for reviews and add Sapt, pick one system to send review requests so customers don’t get two.

Questions shop owners ask

Birdeye doesn’t publish prices; its pricing page asks for your number of locations, as of October 25, 2026. CostBench, a third-party pricing site, lists Starter at $299, Growth at $349 and Dominate at $449 per location a month, last checked August 26, 2026. Get a written quote.

Yes. Birdeye’s terms, effective May 13, 2026, say an agreement auto-renews for the same length as its first term unless you give written notice at least 90 days before renewal. Payments are non-refundable, and an 8% Innovation Fee is added at each auto renewal unless your agreement predates April 1, 2024 or says otherwise.

Yes, for review and survey requests. Birdeye’s Shopmonkey and Tekmetric integration pages say customer data moves over via managed services, then requests go out automatically after a completed transaction. Its Tekmetric announcement says the integration applies only to direct customers.

Birdeye Receptionist picks up when no one answers, lets the caller leave a voicemail, transcribes it and sends an auto-reply text. Your team then replies from the Birdeye inbox. Sapt texts the caller right away, and its AI front desk answers and offers open times by text.

For an independent shop that loses jobs to missed calls, Sapt is $297 a month flat with no contract. It texts back missed callers, answers and books by text, and runs your website and Google listing. If you manage many locations or want listings and reviews across hundreds of sites, Birdeye covers more.

No. Your team answers your shop’s number as usual, and if nobody picks up, the caller gets a text right away. The AI front desk answers and books by text.
